Its a personal experience that drove me build the website http://www.salesamachar.com/. Not sure how many would find this useful but whom-so-ever i met felt the need for something whih gives such information.
It was my sister's marriage and we had to do all preparation in a short span. As everybody knows, that for a girl's marriage in India, what kind of shopping is done. You need to buy from a safety pin to a TV, fridge mobile, AC depdnding on what strata of society you belong, but shopping is inevitable. I had to personally go to each different store say Viveks, Vasanth&Co, e-Zone, Rathna Stores beause they were in proximity to me, collect their prices by enquiring or getting their pamphlets, then decide the various items i would buy from each of those. Would have been simpler with a site providing all this information? And not just marriage, India has year round festive season and offers & discounts are provided by local as well as chains stores in varying ranges. With this information at hand the buyers would sure have a better bargain power too.
Hope the site is really useful to anyone who visits. Customer is king but lets make him god :)
